A couple of weeks in the past, a few pals and I made a decision that we wanted to take a break from our busy schedules and just look for a place to unwind. After doing a bit of research on places that are close by, where we could all just go and spend a few days chillin’ but that would still match our price range, we settled on an area just outside the town of Tustin, CA.
Not only was it easy to access in case any of us had an emergency that might require us to hurry home but it also was probably the greatest places to hang out for the money. As we began, I knew it was going to be a wonderful trip. The only thing I was nervous about was the climate – like many individuals, I don’t fare very well with excessive humidity especially if it’s the sort of humidity I am not accustomed to in my home.
Once we finally got to our Bed & Breakfast in Tustin, it was mid day and the temperature outdoors was stifling. But inside our quaint B & B, the air was fresh and cool. After asking how much they should be paying in power bills to maintain the place that cool during the summer time, the owner of the place told us they don’t truly use electricity to cool the complete house. With that response, you may guess that we all sat up to pay attention!
It’s true that they did not use mains power for their cooling – as a substitute they used solar window fans. The solar powered fans are cheaper and had the added advantage of being “green”. According to the owner, they found them a while ago once they realized that the power payments they were paying to maintain the building cool cost more than was necessary, considering that not all rooms were occupied during the day. From our experience, this was obviously a wise move – the solar window fans kept our rooms cool throughout our whole stay there.
After getting back home, I could not resist doing some more research of my own. The idea of paying less for power was just too hard to resist. I was hooked by the truth that the solar powered fans are low cost and “green”. So I got right down to business doing my on-line research, asking round and although not everybody knew about solar powered window fans, those that knew about them and used them were among the most passionate proponents of solar fans. I could not help but consider how true the age old marketing mantra that your customers will be your most effective sales team.
A solar window fan is fitted with photo-voltaic panels that are positioned in a manner that ensures optimal reception of direct sunlight. But if you’re like me and thought that the solar window fan might only be utilized in the home, it might be a pleasing shock to know that the fans can be used in automobiles too. The fans specially designed to fit in automobiles help keep the vehicle interior cool and reduce the amount of battery power expended when working the vehicle’s air conditioning.
