Solar Window Fans: A Personal Learning While Relaxing in Tustin

A number of weeks in the past, a couple of buddies and I decided that we wanted to take a break from our busy schedules and just search for a spot to unwind. After doing a little bit of analysis on locations that are nearby, where we could all just go and spend a couple of days relaxing but that will still match our finances, we settled on an area just outside the town of Tustin, CA.

Not only was it accessible in case any of us had a situation that might require us to rush home but it also was among the finest locations to stay for the money. As we began, I knew it was going to be a wonderful trip. The one thing I was nervous about was the weather – like many individuals, I don’t fare very well with excessive humidity particularly if it is the sort of humidity I’m not used to in my home.

Once we finally got to our Bed & Breakfast in Tustin, it was mid-afternoon and the heat outside was stifling. However inside our quaint B & B, the air was fresh and cool. After asking how much they must be paying in power bills to keep the place that cool throughout the summer season, the proprietor of the place informed us they do not actually use electricity to cool the complete house. With that response, you can guess that we all sat up to pay attention!

It’s true that they did not use the utility for their cooling – instead they used solar window fans. The solar powered fans are cheaper and had the added bonus of being environmentally friendly. According to the proprietor, they found them a while ago after they realized that the electric bills they had been paying to keep the house cool cost more than was necessary, realizing that not all rooms had been occupied throughout the day. From our experience, this was clearly a smart move – the solar window fans kept our rooms comfortable throughout our entire visit there.

After returning home, I couldn’t resist doing some more research of my own. The thought of paying less for power was simply too tempting to resist. I was hooked by the fact that the solar powered fans are low-cost and environmentally friendly. So I got down to business doing my on-line investigation, asking around and despite the fact that not everybody knew about solar powered window fans, the folks that knew about them and used them had been some of the most enthusiastic proponents of solar fans. I couldn’t help but consider how true the age old sales mantra that your customers might be your most effective sales team.

A solar window fan is fitted with photo-voltaic panels which are positioned in a way that ensures optimal reception of direct sunlight. However if you’re like me and thought that the solar window fan might only be used in the home, it might be a nice shock to know that the fans can be used in cars too. The fans specifically designed to fit in cars help keep the vehicle interior cool and cut back the quantity of battery power expended when operating the vehicle’s air conditioning.
